About
Building is in our blood.

Eric Pinard is a fourth-generation carpenter, Home Builder, and Cabinet Maker in Muskoka. Pinard Construction is his own company — started from the skills, standards, and stories passed down through his family — and the work we do today still carries the fingerprints of the people who taught him.
Construction has been part of this family for generations. It is not just a trade in the Pinard household — it is the language spoken over breakfast, the reason the house always smelled like sawdust, and the standard by which every weekend project was judged. By the time we were old enough to swing a hammer, we were already learning that a building is only as good as the patience behind it.
The techniques we use today — the same joinery, framing, and finishing methods we were taught — are the ones that produce the best product for our clients. Every project carries that history with it. When we lay out a frame, check a mitre, or fit a piece of trim, we are doing what was done before us, refined by the years, and made our own.
We still work the way builders used to: on-site, hands-on, and focused on the details that last. From custom homes and cottages to boathouses, the goal is always the same — a building that fits its land, respects its surroundings, and stands quietly long after the last tool is put away.
What we stand on
Four commitments we don't move on.
Family-built know-how
Four generations of hands-on building shaped the way Pinard Construction works. The same joinery, layout, and finishing methods passed down at the kitchen table and on weekend job sites are still the ones we trust when the stakes are highest. It is not theory — it is memory, muscle, and a name that has to hold up.
Built by hand
As Cabinet Makers, we measure twice and cut once as a habit. That same care goes into every frame, every built-in, and every detail you see when the project is done. Nothing is rushed past the point where pride would notice.
Honest numbers
You get real budgets, real timelines, and a phone call the moment anything shifts. No surprise line items, no shortcuts, and no sales pitch that evaporates once the contract is signed. Trust is built the same way a house is: one true thing at a time.
Built to last
The goal is not to build fast — it is to build right. Every project is finished with the same pride our family put into its own name. A Pinard build is meant to outlast the season, the mortgage, and the trends that come and go.

The craft
Techniques passed down, not picked up.
The skills behind a Pinard build were learned in the family shop and on real job sites, not from a manual. That lineage is what gives every detail its confidence — and every client a finished product they can trust. There is a difference between knowing how something is done and knowing why it matters. We know both.
